Virtual Places

Virtual Places is a chat software created by Ubique, Ltd. (acquired by AOL then Lotus) that incorporates a browser so the chat room is actually a web page. A user can give 'virtual tours' and take others from one website to another. Also, a moderated auditorium chat for guest chat events was developed where the user can chat with others participating in the chat event. A user would also have be able to choose an avatar to graphically represent themselves in the chat room. The GUI was designed for the the software as well as gesture animations for the avatars.
